Walk in tubs are convenient and easy to use

Once upon a time, cellphones were gigantic objects as huge as bricks that only important people carry around in order to coordinate with their corporations or other executives. If you wanted to take a picture of something or listen to music, you had to bring a separate camera or a tape player with the tape of the artist you wanted to listen to. Hard to imagine that such type of life was possible, but there you have it. Today, you’d hardly see a phone without a colored display and at least a 2 mega-pixel camera with a built in mp3 player.

This has become the standard for today because cellphone manufacturers have found it a waste of computing space to just have a gadget that would call or just text.  Similarly, bathroom component manufacturers also feel that having a single bathing system is a waste of good bathroom space. As such, we have walk in tubs that are essentially bath tubs but can moonlight as shower areas.  As an interior designer, I recommend this bathroom component all the time to my clients and friends. Taking advantage of shower chairs for the disabled

For people who are disabled, the bathroom is not a very friendly place. They develop the fear of slipping and hitting themselves on the cold surfaces of the bathroom because they know that they are not able to control their movements and own body especially when the floor gets wet.

The bathing area is most challenging especially for disabled people. Because both the floor and the wall surfaces become very slippery once the water hits them, these people can’t help but feel helpless. They constantly have to watch out for every move they make so they would not end up slipping or falling off their balance.

Comparing regular bathtubs and walk in tubs, the latter are much more expensive than bathtubs. The cost of walk in tubs start around $1,500 for no frills, standard soaker walk in tubs to as high as $8,000 while the brand new bathtubs cost around $200 to $1,000 depending on the added features of the bathtubs.
