There are really some things that we can do without in this world, like assholes during commute or sadistic bosses who do nothing but toy with their employees. Bathroom floor tiles are an avenue for decoration

Before capitalism became the standard of living, people used to design objects only for purposes of adornment and decoration. Soon thereafter, their motivation became profit and the designs were replaced with brand logos and trademarks to incite further purchase from people who would see their marks. Good thing the home is still untarnished with such astute abominations posing as artwork.

That’s mainly the reason why I entered the field of interior design. I like designing homes because I like beauty, period. Of course it is in consideration of a simple fee, but I don’t make it out so that the only purpose of my existence is to gain money. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not a communist, but I detest the evils of capitalism because it oversteps into society’s perception and threshold for beauty.

You can choose alternatives that would produce the same result as having your bathroom tiled

The purpose of alternatives is to come up with other ways to get to the same result. In the early 1800s, Absinthe was banned in Europe because it was said to cause unruly behavior (which it actually did). As such, authorities banned any type of liquor which utilized the ingredients that Absinthe is made of. Alcohol patrons did not tolerate this, of course, so they came up with a different product which would render the same results despite being made of different materials. People throughout history have made use of alternatives because of different reasons. For not using tiles in your bathroom, your reason for using an alternative may be that you don’t like the look of tiles or that you find decorative tiles to be too expensive for your taste.
